DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A WEBSITE CARE PLAN? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

If you would rather not sign up for any maintenance plan, any updates or security fixes will be billed at our currently hourly rate of $80/hr. We do not recommend this option unless you have another developer or are very confident in managing your site updates, security, malware/hacking protections and backup yourself.

Note that problems caused by an incorrect WordPress software or plugin update or plugin installs done by yourself or another third party may or may not be fixable without doing a complete restore of your website data, and if you are NOT on a Website Care Plan, all work will be charged at a much higher hourly rate to fix your site.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SIGN UP? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00
  1. You get an email with instructions for securely submitting your login information so we can begin auditing your site(s)
  2. Once on-boarding is complete, you’ll receive a welcome email with more details about your account, and instructions for sending task requests.
  3. You enjoy the huge relief of not worrying about your website!
IS THERE A CONTRACT? CAN I UPGRADE, DOWNGRADE, OR CANCEL MY PLAN? 2018-06-01T22:19:09+00:00

There is no contract, you may upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time. You are under no obligation to continue the ongoing service. We just ask you give us 30 days notice so we can carry out our last thorough update of the website,and remove our administrator credentials. There are no refunds for any unused time or for annual plans prepaid.

DO YOU OFFER ONE-TIME OR AS-NEEDED SUPPORT? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

We recommend any client who wants an ongoing and priority support relationship with me to be subscribed to a Website Care Plan. However, if you are not on a plan, if time permits we will take on small one-time help requests. Work for non-Care Plan clients will be billed at a higher rate, and the response time will be slower, within 72 hours on business days instead of 24-36 hours 24/7.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE THAN ONE SITE? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

For basic plans, you’ll need to sign up each site for it’s own plan. For Web Optimize plans and higher, we’ll cover basic support for up to two sites. If you have more than two sites, you’ll need a basic plan to cover each additional site.

CAN I BUY A WEBSITE CARE PLAN FOR A WEBSITE THAT YOU DIDN’T CREATE OR REDESIGN? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

Unfortunately, no. We only cover websites we’ve installed and created or refreshed for you.

WHY IS THERE AN ON BOARDING FEE? 2018-06-01T18:21:04+00:00

The on-boarding fee is only for sites not built by CWS Connectivity. There are a million ways to build a WordPress site, some of them better than others.

We’ll do an assessment that includes a 24 point check for best practices in coding, SEO, mobile responsiveness, hosting, site speed and more.

We create detailed documentation about how your site is built:

  • What plugins are used and why
  • 3rd party licenses required, who owns them, and  renewal dates
  • A visual style guide based on your current branding
  • Standard image sizes to keep new content consistent with your brand

You keep all of this documentation, even if you cancel your account.

These plans are offered on a monthly automatic recurring subscription payment is required if you wish to pay monthly. Payments are charged on the first of the month. Otherwise, you may pay annually via standard invoicing. Annual contracts have a 10% discount.

WHAT ARE “SMALL TECH SUPPORT TASKS”? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

Small tech tasks include any task that takes us less than 30 minutes to complete and typically covers things like content updates, plugin research and setup, theme or stylesheet changes, embedding third-party scripts, hosting server or DNS changes, configuring contact forms, or general WordPress questions, but don’t include data entry or content writing. We can make content updates, theme or stylesheet adjustments, install new plugins, configure forms and much more. From code to general WordPress issues, we’ll take care of almost anything that can be done within 30 minutes.

HOW DO WE SEND SUPPORT REQUESTS? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

Just send one request per email to the dedicated support email address or via our live support chat and it will be received in our system. One of our team members will start working on your task and follow up with any questions.

Through our hosting partner and suurri, we provide daily remote and server side security scans. This includes malware removal and full cleanup if your site has been compromised. The WordPress core and plugin updates also protect your site by keeping your software on the latest version. We’re constantly monitoring WordPress security alerts and if we find a vulnerable plugin on your site, we update it as soon as the patch is available.

CAN I USE AN UNLIMITED SUPPORT PLAN TO BUILD MY SITE? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

Our support plans are for live sites only. If you wish to have a new site developed, please fill out our project inquiry form.

DO I HAVE TO USE FLYWHEEL HOSTING 2018-06-01T18:21:04+00:00

If you’re hosted on something like WP Engine, they’re a fine service with a great team and we’re happy to manage your site through them once you give us access to your account.

Some web hosts, simply don’t work with our maintenance systems.

Other hosts can vary wildly in speed, quality and customer service. We’d rather not spend our time and your money dealing with poor hosting issues. We’ve tested most of the hosting providers and we believe that flywheel is the best host overall. We even tested flywheel with our own website before we even started providing the service to our clients.

WHAT IS THE “MONTHLY STRATEGY COACHING CALL”? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

The Monthly Strategy Coaching Call lasts one hour and will be handled via phone. These can be used to review your website performance and discuss recommendations for helping you achieve your business objectives. Sessions must be scheduled at least one week in advance and unused sessions do not roll over from month to month. They typically do not include any hands on tech fixes or changes.

WHAT ARE CONTENT MANAGEMENT SESSIONS? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

These hours can be used to have us do more advanced HTML formatting of blog posts or pages, edit or crop your blog post images, do data entry of FAQ’s or other post copy, etc. Content sessions will be handled via email and can be combined with your tech tasks to get all your content updates done in one or two sessions. We can also proofread and edit your blog post and page copy.

Original copywriting of content – such as writing entire blog posts or landing page copy, is not included.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL MY ACCOUNT? 2018-06-01T18:21:05+00:00

We’ll be sad. But we’ll also provide any information you need to transition smoothly to another developer.

If you’re using tools or themes that are licensed by Karvel Digital, you’ll need to purchase your own license(s) in order to keep the software up-to-date. We’ll also transfer billing for hosting and email automation services back to you.
